"I give this compelling CD my highest recommendation."

"Excellent fiddling; tight instrumentals, and strong vocals--this is a band that serves it up hot!"--Brad Leftwich
Rarely does an old-time string band display such a potent mix of instrumental and vocal horsepower. Consisting of four Virginia-based musicians, Troublesome Creek offers up driving and archaic dance tunes of the central South, haunting mountain ballads, and lonesome or raucous songs of country music pioneers like Dock Boggs and the Carter Family.
NOTE
Troublesome Creek has decided to retire as a performing band. We’re deeply grateful for your invitations, orchestration of gigs, and all-around support. We’ve loved traveling and performing. But we wish to simplify our lives, and play and sing old-time music offstage with friends and family.
At the same time, given a unique invitation that suits our schedules and states of mind, such as our ten-day, all-expense-paid tour in Denmark last September, we’d gladly suspend retirement temporarily, rehearse vigorously, and fly off to Portland or Dublin or Fairbanks or Paris for a tour or festival. Ciao.
